When the Small family established the York Collegiate Institute in 1873, they made the ultimate planned gift. The Institute would later become the York County Academy in 1921, the York Junior College in 1941, and in 1969 it would become York College of Pennsylvania becoming York County’s first four-year college. The Small family gift became a legacy with over 230 years of history.

The Samuel and Isabel Small Legacy Society recognizes individuals who share their vision. We are deeply appreciative of all of our members and we recognize them through donor listings, an invitation to our annual Heritage Society Dinner, as well as many other ways throughout the year.
